Catherine & Dakota originally tied the knot back in December, but because of hard life circumstances they decided to opt for a small ceremony with family. Not wanting to miss out on a fun celebration with all the people they love, they planned a wedding reception and vow renewal for this month. It was such a laid back, fun, day celebrating Catherine & Dakota and the commitment they made back in December. I’m so happy they were able to experience the wedding they dreamed of, while being surrounded by friends & family who will support and encourage them throughout their marriage.

The setting at Balls Falls Conservation Area was so perfect, and paired with all of Catherine & Dakota’s wedding details, the day was absolutely beautiful. I’m so thrilled I was able to capture this awesome celebration!

When I was debating on whether or not I should even put together another year in review post for 2016, I took a look at the one I posted last year and it totally took me back. I hadn’t realized how much I have grown over the course of year. Making myself compile all of my favourite shots & moments from 2016 has been a really encouraging experience and has helped me recognize the potential I have for the future. I am constantly being inspired by other artists who’s work I admire and the internet/social media has made it so easy to do that. But one of the most inspiring things for me has been looking back at where I’ve come from. For me, 2016 is where I really started exploring and finding my “style”, and stepping out of my comfort zone (and sometimes my clients’ too) in order to create art I am proud of. And I hope at the end of every year I can say that same thing.

So with all that being said, I have put together this little post of some of my favourite photos from 2016. I had a ton of fun traveling and working with amazing clients!! And I hope you can feel how awesome the year was for me through these snapshots.
