BRENDAN & DANA // RAINY NORTHERN ONTARIO BACKYARD WEDDING
If you’ve ever planned a wedding, one of your worries might have been the weather - it’s a silly thing to worry about I guess because it’s not something you can control, the only thing you can do is be prepared for what could happen and make the best of whatever the skies decide to do. And that’s exactly what Dana & Brendan did! We joked that their luck with weather seems to be bad, as the colourful October engagement session we had planned turned out to be a whiteout blizzard. And of course their beautiful wedding day was no different - mid ceremony it began to pour. It felt like a moment right out of a movie, friends and family huddled together under umbrellas and with the pitter patter of the rain the only people who heard Dana & Brendan’s handwritten vows were each other.
I can think of so many people who would have considered this unexpected weather a day ruined, but it really brought such a fun and carefree atmosphere to the wedding. You just can’t plan these things, and that’s why I feel these images have such a organic and authentic quality to them. Sunny weddings are overrated. Let your hair get a little wet and your dress a little muddy.

Huge thank you to Katelyn Malo Photography for capturing this wedding with me, but mostly for holding an umbrella over my camera so it didn’t get destroyed!
